Under Surveilance

This is from a photo I took yesterday from the 16th floor of a condo my daughter is trying to buy. (hope she gets it, love the perspective) I guess artist types have a little voyeur in them...300mm lens...ha!

  4. Vern, great view and painting. I think we are all being somewhat influenced by Karin in one way or other.

  6. This one is dynamic and has that wonderful "what iiiiiiizzzzzz going on here?" feeling that makes some paintings so fun to stare at. Speculators like me can just have a field day, and that just makes it fun. And talk about a successful yet atypical composition -- this one's got it! Yay Vern!

  7. Wow, thanks everyone. I've always loved Karin type figurative paintings, especially with movement or some kind of action involved.

  8. Great painting, Vern! Love the angle!
I've been snapping folks on the sidewalk from my kitchen window for quite awhile now, with future paintings in mind. It does make one feel guilty hoping they don't look this way. They sure wouldn't think, "He's taking these photos of me just so he can make a painting." Lol.

  10. Vern: I love that I feel like I'm writing to a dog, but a cute one at that:) I'm still laughing at Dana Cooper's comment. And, I agree, the perspective on your painting is great, as well as the broad strokes. I also agree that most artists and photographers are a bit voyeuristic, but that's the nature of the game.
