Tabby is a beautiful little cat residing at D'Arcy's Animal Rescue in Winnipeg. She is one of many looking for a new home, and hopefully this portrait will help raise a few dollars for their cause.
She's gorgeous. I love tabbies with all their stripes! It's sad to me that there are so many cats and dogs out there looking for a forever home; thank you for helping to draw attention to one!
This little cat is so cute! I didn't know you were from Winnipeg, that I know quite well, on my way to Kenora, from France. I sympathize with your wife, I've had this kind of treatment for the whole 2008, so, courage for the 2 of you!
You did an incredible job on this cat, Vern. The colors are fabulous and the way you conveyed that soft fur is amazing. Cats are very difficult to paint as I have found out the hard way. Great job!
Hi Vern, thank you for your kind comments on my blog and for introducing me to your work. You are very talented. I am sending warm, positive thoughts Rose's way. Cannot wait to see what you paint next!
Great to hear from you Vern, please give your wife my best we are keeping her in our prayers.
I just love this painting, very inspiring I think I will make a visit to our local shelter and do the same, what a wonderful idea. I just love animals and am always trying to think of ways to help.
I have a soft spot for tabbies and you painted this one extremely well. I made an attempt to paint my tabby and failed miserably. I know how hard it is to get those stripes to look like fur. Great job!
Absolutely beautiful, Vern! The color is very rich. I like the appearance of the canvas texture. I also love that bit of red surrounding the branch in the background.
