Steel Blues

I've been wanting to paint this guy for quite awhile, and decided to include him in Edward Burton's moleskin as my final painting for the project...sniff! It sure was a lot of fun, and produced some great art from some wonderful artists.
I photographed him about three years ago in Vancouver as he played inside the Granville Island market. He was a most interesting looking, and talented musician as he played on his metal resonator guitar, and graciously allowed me to take his picture.

And thanks for the comment on my art blog. I am currently in New Mexico on my moms computer and wanted to tell you I have spent the last few dys in Utah in Canyonlands myself and will be back there in the San Rafael this weekend. An incredible area and such painting opportunities.

  4. Wonderful work, Vern! Fits Ed's theme perfectly, and is a great painting. I just shipped your journal to Banji today, so it should be heading your way soon.

  5. Hey Vern - this one is great - so how many paintings do you each have in your returned moleskins? That would be priceless - what a major undertaking and cool journal you guys have done for one another! I love the nice portrait above as well!
