Karin's Boots

  1. Vern,
My first time at your blog. Karin's not only challenging our painting, but helping to discover and meet other artist's. I love your Buddha and boots. You are one of my favorites! I admire your dedication to the discipline of fine painting.
    I'll be back!

  2. Marilyn, thanks very much and right back at you. I just visited your blog and all of a sudden, I'm hungry. Your still lifes are absolutely amazing.

  3. Vern, this is nice but I know you can do better. How do you feel about it?

  4. Alice I can't tell you how much I appreciate your frank comment. I've been poring myself in to the large piece and I kind of fit this in between. You are absolutely right, it is kind of blah isn't it? I'll step on it when I get a chance and re-post. Thanks, and I mean it, we all need a little push and constructive criticism in order to improve.

  5. Vern, I wish I knew your email address because I would rather say this privately. But your boots are my second favorite of all of them -- see, I'm being Frank, too. My favorite ones, I will admit, are Maggie Mayer's, although Carolee Clark's are really original and interesting. I do think we are critical of our own work naturally (most people are) but don't be hard on yourself, you did a great job! (imo)

  6. These are great Vern. I had to come check after Camille's comment. I like your blog too! I see you follow Sandra Flood too.

  7. Thanks Maggie, Sandra is one of my absolute favorite artists whose paintings just speak to me. I've usually got one of her pieces up on my desktop.

  8. Vern, It's always great to see your work even without your name under the pictures your style is recognisable. I can't wait to see this big project finished.
