Duke

This is my first painting for Art For Shelter Animals. Duke presently resides at the Winnipeg Humane Society and is looking for a new home. He is a Doberman / Bloodhound cross and definitely has those sad sad eyes. Let's hope he finds a good home.

  2. I love it Vern. I like being able to see it in a larger format and I bet it's even more gorgeous in person.

  3. Thanks Tom, I'm afraid to go down to the shelter now. I don't know if anyone can resist those eyes in person.

    Thanks Sheila, I appreciate it.

  5. Oh Vern, Duke is aDORable!!!! And I love Rocky and your beach scene, too. You've been a paintin' FOOL since you got home, good for you! I hang my head in shame... need to get back in the saddle. But good for you! LOVE these l'il dogies. They will surely get snapped up when people see your paintings.

  9. Hi Vern,

I am the lucky man who adopted Duke. Those eyes are impossible to resist. I just googled "Duke Winnipeg Humane Society" out of the blue for no reason and found your painting in the image search and then found your blog. Duke has been with me since March of 2009. Here is a blog I wrote about the way things have gone with him sometime back. Since then things have just become better.

Thanks for posting it, it's quite a trip to find this.

    Thanks,
